Podio Storage

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Podio Storage (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a backup and restore service for Podio workspaces. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using Podio Storage, you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

Podio Storage is an independent product. It is not operated by Podio, Citrix, or Cloud Software Group. We connect to Podio only through Podio’s official OAuth APIs with your authorization.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

  • Account information — the email address you use to sign in, and related account settings (for example, plan and storage usage).
  • Authentication data — one-time verification codes sent to your email, and OAuth tokens issued by Podio so we can access the workspaces you authorize. We do not ask for or store your Podio password.
  • Backup content — copies of Podio data you choose to back up (organizations, spaces, apps, items, files, tasks, and related metadata) so we can provide browse, restore, export, and import features.
  • Billing information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing metadata (for example, subscription status and customer identifiers). We do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Usage and support — basic operational logs (such as backup status and error diagnostics) and feedback you voluntarily submit through the product.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve Podio Storage;
  • Authenticate you and maintain your session;
  • Run backups, restores, exports, and imports you request;
  • Enforce plan limits and process subscriptions;
  • Respond to support requests and investigate abuse or outages;
  • Comply with applicable law and protect our rights and users.

We do not sell your personal information or your Podio backup content.

4. How we share information

We may share information only as needed to run the service:

  • Podio — to connect your account and perform authorized backup and restore actions via OAuth.
  • Infrastructure providers — such as hosting, database, and object storage vendors that process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
  • Stripe — for paid plan checkout and subscription management.
  • Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Podio Storage, our users, or others.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor notice.

5. Data retention

We retain account and backup data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Backup retention is also limited by your plan. You may delete individual backups in the product. If you request account closure or data deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or billing records.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and encrypted storage of OAuth credentials. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong email account security and review the Podio permissions you grant.

7. Your choices

  • You can disconnect Podio OAuth access from Podio Storage and/or from your Podio account settings.
  • You can delete backups and export packs from the product.
  • You can manage or cancel paid subscriptions through the billing portal linked in the product (powered by Stripe).
  • You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us using the details below.

8. International processing

We may process information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Podio Storage, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in locations that may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

9. Children

Podio Storage is intended for business and adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Third-party services

Podio Storage relies on third-party platforms (including Podio and Stripe). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Podio Storage after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

12. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy or your data can be sent through the in-app Feedback form in Podio Storage, or by emailing privacy@podio-storage.com.
